Egyptians in World Juniors preparation mode

Under the supervision of National Coach Omar Abdel Aziz, along with coach Naser Abdel Momem and Team Manager Ahmed El Mataany, the gifted juniors Nouran Gohar, Zeina Mekawy, Hania El Hammamy, Amina Yousry, Rawan Reda for the girls, joined by top Saadeldin Ihab, Youssef Ibrahim, Marwan Tarek, Zeyad Sakr, Mostafa Montase and Karim Magdy for the boys, the Egyptian Squad is sharpening their skills…

They are training in Cairo Stadium – minutes from the Egyptian Federation who is of course organising the camps, and staying in the lovely Sonesta hotel, a block away from the squash courts.

We started in the morning with endurance routines and strokes, plusindividual sessions in the from 8am, followed by a second session at 7pm, consisting of conditional games, plus games with the top professional players such as Omar Mossad, Karim Abdel Gawad, Ali Farag, Nour El Tayeb, Mazen Hesham, Mohamed Abouelghar, Mohamed Ali Anwar Reda, Karim El Hammamy, Shehab Essam.

Of course, we as a nation are blessed to have such role models for our juniors. And the fact the top players are always there to support our juniors is probably one of the secrets of Egyptian success. But we do not relay on the past success. We know other nations are working extremely hard to try and snatch the titles away from us. So, we are working as hard as we possibly can” concluded Abdel Aziz.

The next training camp will start a week from the end of this one. We can safely say the Egyptians are not resting on their laurels, now, can't we….
